About the library
Welcome to the Library of Yash College of Education. Our library has knowledge based rich collection of reading materials related to Education. Apart from this, we have books on general knowledge, UGC, fiction (English and Hindi) and others.

It is our constant endeavor to deliver the best of current knowledge and information. For this, we subscribe to a number of Hindi and English dailies and a number of magazines. Journals related to Education form a valuable part of our collection.

It serves as a portal from where the readers can access vast amount of information. The library staff tries to provide the best services to its readers. The library uses Open Access System to facilitate the readers.

Library Timings
The library remains open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday. We offer its services around the year by keeping its doors open to the readers.

Library Rules

• All the students, teachers as well as the non-teaching staff members are the members of the library.
• The Librarian at the discretion of Principal may allow others to make casual use of library.
• Before entering the library, personal belongings of the readers must be kept at the entrance.
• Librarian may recall any books from the borrower at any time after issue.
• There is an overdue charge of Re.1/- (Rupee One) per day on every book beyond the allowed lending period.
• Members are responsible for any damage caused by them to the books or other property belonging to the library and shall be required to pay the penalty imposed upon them by the Librarian.
• Upon any infringement of the library rules, members shall forfeit the privileges of admission and membership of the library.
• A borrower shall replace a book if it is lost while in custody.
• In case borrower fails to replace a lost or damaged book within a month from the due date of its return, he/she shall pay to the Library the full cost of the book.
• A person loosing or damaging Library books repeatedly shall be debarred from using the Library.
• The reference books, journals and etc. shall not be issued.
• In special cases, the Librarian at his/her discretion may issue a reference book for a short period.

Code of conduct in the Library

• Using the Library and borrowing books from it, is a privilege given to the members. Any misuse of this or violation of any rules or codes may lead to the cancellation of this privilege.
• The use of mobile phones in the Library is prohibited. Phones should either be switched off, or set to silent ring mode. Failure with these requirements may result in a fine and/or exclusion from the Library.
• Marking of books, dog-earing of pages and soling of books may deprive a member of his/her privilege.
• Members may give suggestions on acquisition of books, journals etc. and on all round improvement of the Library. Complaints, if any, be submitted to the Librarian in writing for proper action. Library rules may be amended or altered as and when necessary. For the final examination, the students are privileged to get the books issued on security that is refundable. After getting the no-dues cleared from the library, the students can get the security refund from the library itself.

Services Offered

1. Book Bank
   There is a provision of book bank in the college library. The books are issued to the needy, deserving and meritorious students for the entire session.
   
   
2. Reference Service
   We provide personalized reference service to our readers. It is our whole hearted endeavor to provide right and timely information. The readers can approach the staff, which provides the needful. Question Papers pertaining to previous years’ examinations are also stocked in the reference collection of the Library.
   
   
3. Circulation Service
   The members can get the books issued and returned from the library according to their category. There are well laid norms for issue and return.

Timings for issue and return
The college has a fully automate digital library with internet enquiry facility where all activities like the lending of books, purchase of books, lending of audio visual material, book bank are computerized. The library has an important role to play in an educational Institution. It is an essential core element and dynamic instrument for the promotion of educational research. The founder of the college Mr. Surender singh had a passion for good books. So the library of this college started functioning with the inception of the college in 2007. The library is well equipped with the latest books. It has more than 10000 books in stock. It subscribes to various journals on education. Books are properly Classified, Catalogued & arranged systematically for the users. Research and reference sections are well stocked.

The library has an open-shelf system where members of the staff and students can consult books freely and make their own selection. B.Ed. student is issued four books at a time whereas a D.Ed. student is issued two books at a time for a period of 14 days.

The library has a photocopier where members of the staff and students can get documents photocopied at concessional rates. Members of the faculty recommend books to be purchased for the library. The new arrivals are displayed on a notice board.

There are total Five PCs. (One Server), Circulation alongwith Alice for Windows, Library Software of Tech Lib Pvt. Ltd. Delhi, for Automation of the library and Two for Inquiry Purposes, One for Internet purposes.

A highly qualified and experienced librarian heads the library. A library attendant to help her in her work.

In this age of information, the library services must be the heart of any institution. The Library (Learning and Resource Centre) plays a vital role in providing & nurturing knowledge and aiding in learning activities. The Primary purpose of the library is to support teaching, research, academic programmes. Yash College Library has really been a centre of attraction for the visitors quite a rich a well stocked Library (Science, humanities Education). Journals of national standards are also subscribed.
